Recording Fee Increase in 2024
As a result of the recent approval of House Bill 1474, there will be a $100 increase in standard recording fee for most document recordings. However, the documents that are currently exempt from housing surcharges will not be affected by this change. The effectie date for this fee adjustment is set for January 1, 2024.
Recording Fees
Real estate recording fees are fees charged by the government to record and maintain official documents related to real estate transactions. These fees vary depending on the location and the type of document being recorded. Examples of documents that may require recording include deeds, mortgages, liens, and easements. Recording fees are typically paid by the buyer or seller during the closing process. It is important to consult with a local authority or real estate professional to determine the specific recording fees applicable to your area.
