Megan Rapinoe announces retirement after the end of the 2023 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) season and will mark her final FIFA World Cup with our hopes, her third trophy. 

Megan Rapinoe is an American professional soccer player. She was born on July 5, 1985, in Redding, California. Rapinoe is known for her skill and versatility on the field, as well as her outspoken activism off the field.

Rapinoe began her professional career in 2009 when she was drafted by the Chicago Red Stars in the inaugural season of the Women's Professional Soccer League. She later played for the Philadelphia Independence and Seattle Reign FC before joining OL Reign of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).

Internationally, Rapinoe has represented the United States women's national soccer team since 2006. She has won numerous accolades with the national team, including two FIFA Women's World Cup titles in 2015 and 2019. Rapinoe was also awarded the Golden Boot and Golden Ball at the 2019 World Cup, recognizing her as the tournament's top scorer and best player, respectively.
