Mukilteo is a city located in Snohomish County, Washington. It is situated on the Puget Sound, about 25 miles north of Seattle. As of 2023, Mukilteo has an estimated population of around 20,774 people. The city covers a total area of approximately 6.2 square miles.

History

Mukilteo has a rich history, with Native American tribes, such as the Snohomish and the Tulalip, having inhabited the area for thousands of years. The city's name, "Mukilteo," comes from the Lushootseed word meaning "good camping ground." European settlers arrived in the area in the mid-1800s, and the town was officially incorporated in 1947.
